W0W19 is an inflatable bouncy castle, which closely mirrors and scales down the design of the collective's project space in Ghent. This installation is situated within Koning Albert Park and can be discovered every Saturday during the run of Publiek Park, offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy bouncing in it. As an ephemeral architectural replica of an art space, weekly appearing and disappearing, W0W19 is reminiscent of the 19th century plans for a fine arts museum at Koning Albert Park – a vision that remained unrealized.

From September 10 2023 onwards, Ghent-based art collective 019 shifts the edges and dimensions of LLS Paleis’s art space. As a response to John Körmeling’s intervention, 019 constructs a new entrance. Part of the exhibition space temporarily turns into a front yard. As such, what is in- and outside, public and private, art space and sidewalk, is critically questioned by a simple gesture. 019 will curate a program in the in-between, with artists adding subtle interventions to test the possibilities and limits of such a vaguely defined, semi-public space – a space obeying to different rules, welcoming other visitors, and generating both solicited and unsolicited artistic additions.
019 is the nineteenth project of Smoke & Dust, an artist collective founded in 2008 by Tim Bryon, Valentijn Goethals and Tomas Lootens, centred in a former welding factory in the Old Docks area of Ghent. Since its conception, 019 has developed into a transdisciplinary platform for intuitive experimentation, collaboration and encounter between architecture, graphic design and visual arts. 019 always seeks new possibilities and challenges the common ways of exhibiting in artistic and non-artistic spaces. Like a welcoming occupier, 019 invites artists to explore and make visible the potential of these spaces. From a project space in Ghent, in public space and at institutions in Belgium and abroad, 019 creates new interfaces between art and society. The collective currently involves: Tim Bryon, Bieke Criel, Arnout De Cleene, Michiel De Cleene, Ran De Vos, Olivier Goethals, Valentijn Goethals, Bruno Jacoby, Lizzy Jongedijk, Tomas Lootens, Bert Villa en Antonia Vincenza.

W0W19 is een opblaasbaar springkasteel, dat op kleinere schaal overeenkomt met het ontwerp van de projectruimte van het collectief in Gent. Deze installatie is elke zaterdag te ontdekken in het Koning Albertpark, waar bezoekers de kans krijgen om te springen op het springkasteel. Als een efemere architecturale replica van een kunstruimte, die wekelijks verschijnt en verdwijnt, refereert W0W19 aan de 19de-eeuwse plannen om een museum voor schone kunsten te bouwen in het Albertpark - een plan dat ongerealiseerd bleef.

Vanaf 10 september 2023 verlegt het Gentse kunstenaarscollectief 019 de grenzen en dimensies van de kunstruimte LLS Paleis. Als reactie op de interventie van John Körmeling bouwt 019 een nieuwe ingang. Een deel van de tentoonstellingsruimte verandert tijdelijk in een voortuin. Zo wordt wat binnen en buiten is, publiek en privé, kunstruimte en voetpad, kritisch bevraagd door een eenvoudig gebaar. 019 zal een randprogramma samenstellen met kunstenaars die subtiele interventies toevoegen om de mogelijkheden en grenzen van zo’n vaag gedefinieerde, semi-openbare ruimte te testen – een ruimte die aan andere regels gehoorzaamt, andere bezoekers verwelkomt en zowel gevraagde als ongevraagde artistieke toevoegingen genereert.
019 is het negentiende project van Smoke & Dust, een kunstenaarscollectief dat werd opgericht door Tim Bryon, Valentijn Goethals en Tomas Lootens, en dat gevestigd is in een voormalige lasfabriek in de Oude Dokkenbuurt van Gent.
