Wantee, the video work by the French artist Laure Prouvost, was presented in the mysterious aquarium grotto. This cave-like space, usually hidden behind a locked door in the Citadelpark, still carries the traces of the past. Its artificial rock formations used to contain water basins showcasing both local and exotic, sweet and salt water fishes during the world fair in 1913. The walls and ceiling of the this space are covered with concrete stalactites that used to drip water, mimicking an natural cave with its ingenious irrigation system. The space is dotted with balconies and pathways.
Wantee tells the semi-fictional and pseudo-autobiographical story of Prouvost’s grandfather, an artist as well, who got lost while he was digging a tunnel to Africa.

Wantee, het videowerk van de Franse kunstenaar Laure Prouvost, werd gepresenteerd in de mysterieuze aquariumgrot. Deze grotachtige ruimte, meestal verborgen achter een gesloten deur in het Citadelpark, draagt nog steeds de sporen van het verleden. De kunstmatige rotsformaties bevatten waterbassins met zowel lokale als exotische, zoet- en zoutwatervissen tijdens de wereldtentoonstelling in 1913.
De muren en het plafond van deze ruimte zijn bedekt met betonnen stalactieten die vroeger water druppelden en zo een natuurlijke grot nabootsten met een ingenieus irrigatiesysteem. De ruimte is bezaaid met balkons en paden.
